Network Infrastructure
Security systems like IP CCTV and distributed access control typically rely on a standard TCP/IP network to connect the various components. This network is the same type as the standard computer LAN network in a building. To make it more secure and stable, the security network is often a separate physical network from the computer LAN.

The security network uses standard network switches, routers, and firewalls. Also, in many cases the CCTV uses video recording servers that are the same as the typical IT file server.
